Mojo Monday 148

Okay, I'm back to the Monday Challenges!!

This week I'm doing the Mojo Monday 148 Challenge. Here's the Sketch I had to follow:

(And yes that is the current one!) I know, I'm shocked too. lol Hopefully this will be my new trend, being on time with the challenges and getting them done, period! I guess Only time will tell.

I made this card with the Cherry-O paper since it's the paper I'm using for my July Workshop. Loving the paper and everything I can do with it!!!

This sketch one was tricky for me, as I don't do a lot of circle stuff and I knew I wanted it to be punched out but couldn't figure it out and didn't have tons of supplies left, but I think it came out quite nice.

09. Business Classes!

Although taking business classes while on vacation doesn't sound like fun, they totally were!! The corporate staff at CTMH is So nice and fun. Plus they gave away amazing prizes during them too. lol Here's me and Regina with our prizes!

08. Got to Tour Washington D.C!

It was my first time there and it was beautiful and historic and just so grand.

07. Jeanette Lynton:

I know you are saying, how can a person be a top reason to go to convention, but even when she's on stage and talking about corporate updates or her personal life, she is inspiring and strangely familiar. Plus, she is SO funny.

06. Challenging Create-N-Takes:

That totally Rocked and made me feel like a ROCK STAR when they were done. I love having those "Wow, I Made That!" moments. (I'll try to add pictures soon, but it may be a you HAVE to see this in person thing.)

05. Celebrating at the Closing Banquet!!

You can't go wrong with great food, hilarious entertainment (World's Funniest Mom - Anita Renfroe, you have to check her out!), Consultant only Stamp Set!!! (Of course I will let you see!!) AND the Wii Just Dance game with about 1000 other consultants! What more could a girl ask for?

Sorry it's rotated, but the theme of Convention was Picture This so it was really nice to get a stamp set all about convention.

04. HILARIOUS-NESS:

Not sure that's a word, but that was what Convention was! The convention was SO funny. CTMH made all these skits of shows they changed and added a scrapbooking flair to! Examples: Trading Spaces to Trading Pages, The Brady Bunch to The Gathering Bunch, Desperate Housewives to something, but I can't remember what it was called. AND I will never listen to a Beyonce song the same again!! They came out and did a live dance of All the Single Ladies but changed the words around to All The Scrappin' Ladies! (i.e. If you like it, then you should have put some Bling on it, Don't be mad if you see a bitty brad on it!) I'm telling you the people that work at corporate are funny!
(It's in your head now isn't it? Me too.)


03. Extravaganza:

Eight 20 minute 'classes' on creative ways to use stuff you already had and special new stuff. It didn't hurt that we got free stuff after each one. Including a stamp pad in each of our 8 NEW colors!!! (This is one of the many reasons I LOVE CTMH, they totally take care of us and every 5 minutes was a free giveaway!)


02. Absolutely Amazing Artwork:

The consultants in this company are truly Artists. Some of the layouts and cards were just spectacular and that was just the tip of the Iceberg!! There was also Home Decor you can hang in a room or on a door, Photo boxes, Mini Album. I didn't even touch on the Album Contest CTMH held and had the top 10 on display for us to vote for, To-Die-For!! Here's a picture of one of the layouts from one of the albums, not sure if this book won or not and I'll get the name of who's album it was and add it, but this person is AMAZING!! Just got SO many creative ideas from Convention! (I'll see if I can add more photos of the fan-tab-ulous artwork later as well.)

I got to have a super fun time with my friends and just be silly, really get to know each other, meet tons of great new people and laugh at jokes that only we would get. (No one else will laugh with you about how they thought they were at a braille conference cuz everyone was walking around touching the walls! I know you don't get it, but feel free to ask me.) Who doesn't like a week hanging out with the girls, come on, what else would it be? lol

CTMH Convention

Hey everyone!!

Convention has been a blast so far and Washington D.C. is Amazing!!!! It's beautiful and so historic and Fun!
Convention has me SUPER buzy, but wanted to let everyone know that they did announce some new colors!!!!! And I'll have samples when I get home! We also have some Studio J announcements that sound really promising. :)
Can't wait to share more but we start in 30 minutes and I NEED to get some coffee!

Okay, I have been really bad about updating lately, I know. I've been super busy but I do have tons of stuff to post, I already have to post the layout I made for the CTMH Convention Swap AND the wedding favors I made for my Aunt's wedding!! They kinda took me forever and I'm not using that as an excuse, but am throwing it in there for you to forgive me!! :)
I am flying out to Washington DC today for the CTMH Convention, so I will be trying to update my blog while I'm there to give you sneak peeks at what's new and all that other fun stuff they will show me.
Please stay tuned for updates on that, then as soon as I'm home, I will show off my CTMH Convention layout and the wedding favors.

Update on Me

So, I've kinda been slacking a little...SORRY! I have been totally behind on my crafting lately, but I will hopefully be posting some new stuff tonight or this weekend. I'm all over the H2H Challenge in my head, just haven't made it to paper yet, Literally!! lol
As a side note, I wrote a while back about starting a diet and just wanted to say, my first month of the diet has gone and I am 8 pounds lighter!!! Yay! My end goal is to lose 32-42 more pounds. 42 more would be like my dream weight, but I would be super super super happy with 30, heck I'd be happy with 20. lol
Just wanted to send out an update of some kind!

H2H Challenge #6

I haven't done any crafts all week!!! But here I am Finally catching up!

This week's H2H Challenge was to create something that uses a technique and show how to do the technique.

My Boyfriend's bowling team made it into the Championships and they always call me their Cheerleader. Since they made it to the championships, I said I would do something Cheerleader-like for the big game.

So I decided this would be a Perfect Opportunity to bring my sracpbooking to the bowling alley! I made a sign to show off at the game.

The Technique I used was Chalk Popping. The background of the sign is a stars and swirls stamp from the Star Power stamp set. For this technique you just need: VersaMark, Chalk, and a stamp!

First, stamp your image in VersaMark.

Next, stamp it on the paper.

Next, use your chalk applicator and rub over where you stamped.

This technique works really great with background stamps...which I didn't use on this, but I still like how it turned out.

H2H Challenge and Mojo Monday

I know it's Thursday, but here's my H2H Challenge and Mojo Monday entry. Needless to say I'm super behind with my crafts! I have made 4 Mother's Day cards and wanted to send out 13...Maybe next year.

The H2H challenge this week is just to make something for Mother's day. The Mojo Monday entry is the below sketch.

Well, here's my entry, hope you like it.

The card is 5 by 7 and I used Bella paper and some Colonial white Cardstock.

The HAPPY letters are Bella stickease and I inked the paper flowers. The Creme Brulee flower is inked with Desert Sand and the White flower is inked with Hollyhock, the Purple flower is a Bella stickease that I cut then just added a white edge anchor as the base.

May Prep Time!

Mother's Day is around the corner and the H2H challenge is hopefully getting me ready for it.

I really wanted to do something different with the ribbon and use some of my left over paper.

I went with Perfect Day paper because I really like it, and it kinda says Mom to me. Here's what I came up with:

The first ribbon was Organdy Juniper Ribbon that is more of a background, but I think gives the card some character, plus my mom really like green. :)

The second ribbon I used was Cocoa ribbon around the outside of the card just to add additional dimension.

Hello Monday

Okay everyone,
I've decided it's time for me to be more healthy and lose a few pounds in the process.
I also realized that I pretty much suck at eating good for me foods without being forced, hence why I've been on a on again off again diet for most of my adult life.
Because of this I have decided to start Nutrisystem...So if I get crabby some days, that's probably why, but I think it will work, plus, I'm working out again, so hopefully I'll see results and look how I want to. I'll keep you updated on my progress.
Today I even did some strength training at home since I couldn't make it to the gym!

I am hoping this decision to take control follows me in all aspects of my life include my day time job and home life. I'll let you know what it brings.

Now on to think of something for the New H2H challenge...and possibly think about starting the Mojo Monday Challenge as well...we'll see, don't want to take TOO much control at once. lol

H2H Challenge #3

Hey everyone,

Decided to do my first Blog challenge. The challenge is Heart 2 Heart Challenge and is sponsored by CTMH!

The challenge this week is based on the following sketch: Everyone doing the challenge has to make something with a similar design.

I decided to take a stab at it...the people that do them now are REALLY good, so it's a bit intimidating, but it's a good way to use stuff I haven't use or haven't used in a long time.

I went with a card and here it is!

The flower on this is a Soft Suede Pinwheel CTMH released in their Spring Idea Book and I really loved but then Never used!!! So it was nice to finally get them in a project. I will have to keep them in mind so I don't forget about them again...Is it possible to have too many embellishments?? NAW!!! It's obviously past my bedtime, cuz I'm talking crazy! lol

Hope you like my card, always get new embellishments but show your old stuff love too and Good Night everyone!

Spring is Here!!

The green and yellows in the Veranda paper packet and the wonderful weather lately have really re-built my love for Spring. With that I decided to make the 6 cards from the Veranda workshop on the go. The antique copper accents and the paper flowers go great with this paper. AND paper flowers are my absolute Fav embellishment right now!!

Two have a lovely sentiment that I may use as Mother's Day cards...if I make enough for all the mothers I know. Having a big family does not allow you to just make two cards!

2 are thank you cards. I could always use these, although I never seem to use them as much as I should...That needs to be my Spring Resolution (too late to start a New Year's Resolution.)

The other 2 are thinking of you cards. Thinking of sending those to my college roommates I have not see in a while. Now just gotta get to the post office! Someone yell at me if I don't!
